CyberArts X
Healing Haiku Wall
Suggested by. Developed for CyberArts by Joegh Bullock

CyberArts X overview > Healing Haiku Wall

Only four days after the tragic events in New York and Washington DC, the CyberArts X party offered San Francisco a place to gather and to share thoughts and feelings about the seemingly senseless acts.
In the distance, CyberArts X event features the Healing Haiku Wall. Selected entries reproduced below.
The more pain we feel
The stronger we can become
Love is all you need
My innocence lost
Eyes burning watching TV
September 11
Life out of balance
All burning and collapsing
What does it all mean?
To peace warriors:
We're totally surrounded
No means of escapeŠ
I love you New York
I weep for you New York
I pray for you to heal New York
Invincible towers
Poor man's cruise missile
Vengeance of insanity
Many hearts broken
Spirit of America reborn
What a wake up call
Anger from the skies
Sorrow's madness bears strange fruit
Shadows drift like cloud
Such rage my frustrate!
Followed by desire to pluck
Their lives live daisies
We are still alive
Creating a peaceful world
In which we'll survive
What the world needs now
Is Love, love, love, love, love
Does the world know how?
Before we can have love
We must have safety, so
We do what we must
Exploding cultures
The emptiness of the void
Shockwaves in the heart
Days and days we cry
How can we know what to do
Tomorrow may show
Tomorrow's landscape
Day by day media rains (reigns)
Ceaselessly praying
Kid pokes me with stick
Maim kid, kill his parents
Maybe overkill?
Television blitz
Freedom's reward repossessed
A sad sacrifice
Fall is all anew
Cold is what we gather for
Let us be warm now
Fear's scattered embers
The fickle flame contorting
Fight or flight response
As dear Gandhi said
An eye-for-an-eye
And soon we would all be blind
From out of the ash
Will arise again anew
Hope for world peace
Violence breeds hate
In human memory and hearts
Compassion is faith
End the suffering
On both sides of the bombing
Then we have a chance
Capital tower
Draws the vicious hate mongers
Attack our "freedom?"

Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria moriŠ
Sic transit gloria mundi

Payback is a mother-fuckerŠ
America finally come home to roost
(Malcolm X)
Strength is what we are
Courage is what we all know
And so we shall RISE!
Power towers bloom
Into flame and smoke flowers
Flying glass showers
Standing stone dissolves
Breathed from an enemy's hand;
Illumination rises
Twin sisters topple
A flood of tears falls before
Brotherhood rises
Our eyes open wide
Melting our hearts together
Trust more than ever
I always have a choice in any moment, to believe my fear is real, or my ability to have compassion is real.
Why is it ok to tell children "not to fight" while grown-ups make war?
In separation, judgement, segregation. We crumbleŠ
United we rebirth in awareness of recognition of our true values. New beginnings transofrmation.
Nostradamus said: "When in York, the sisters go in flamesŠ
Now we are tested to stay conscious in our heartsŠ
